Thomas, The Didymus

Who is the twin in the Gospel of John?

Begins with John 11:16, “So Thomas called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” Thomas is depicted as pessimistic. He was doubting that Jesus’s visit would not change anything.

The second appearance of Thomas was in John 14:5, “Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” This verse as well depicting Thomas’s doubt about what Jesus has said.

The Pivotal Moment

John 20:24 mentioned Thomas was not with all the rest of the disciples. They all saw Jesus. They said to him, “We have seen the Lord”.
